If you fancy a day away from the pool but still fancy a swim and the you are not a “beach person” there are some an of beautiful mountains and lakes to explore in the area the furthest away being only 45 mins. AnnaHere at the beautiful “Albufera” (small lake) in Anna the kids can swim in the fresh water and play in the waterfall or you can take a stroll round the “Albufera” It is only 25 mins from the villa and well worth a visit. The Restarante Marchena (on the right just as you drive in) does very good food and specialises in Paella. It is very Spanish with whole families (2 or 3 generations) all coming here to eat especially on Sundays If you want Paella you will need to order it the day before (+34) 962210141 can get very busy but only adds to the fantastic atmosphere where all the tables are outside under a huge awning Just choose Anna from Sat Nav favourites.
Mirador de Escalona RestaurantNot far from the villa is the town of Navares where you can enjoy a fantastic meal freshly cooked on the BBQ or more traditiona Spanish fayre at Mirador de Escalona restaurant, overlooking the beautiful blue water of the lake and the dam and afterwards why not walk down to the water and go for a swim to work off your lunch ! We would suggest booking a table by the window as it can be very popular and is not open every day They can be contacted on (+34) 962 266 370 Just enter Lakeside restaurant from favourites on the sat nav provided.
view from the mirador restaurant Quessa
They are a series of small lakes at different levels, each one running down into the next. Be sure to take a picnic and some drinks as there are no shops or restaurants here as it is in the middle of the National park If you go there during weekdays you wil probably have it all to yourselves however it will get busier during the fiesta season in August Just enter Lakes Quessa into the sat nav provided.
